This nice little café is good in its own right, but it deserves special mention due to the award-winning farm shop under the same roof. I can't say enough good things about this place. |

At time of writing I'm living just round the corner in Stamford Bridge, so it's easy for me to make regular pilgramages to Balloon Tree. I mainly go for the fresh fruit and veg, mostly grown in the surrounding fields (and accordingly labelled "grown 200 yards away" and so forth). There's also plenty of local meat, jams, wine and pickles, plus delicious homemade cakes and sweet treats. Everything is top notch quality and local (often, VERY local), and the fruit and veg are especially good value.

To get back to the café theme, the one attached to the shop is well worth a visit in its own right, and is deservedly very popular. The coffee is excellent, as are the scones and cinnamon toast. There are plenty of lunchtime options to draw the crowds, so if you just want some coffee I'd recommend early morning or late afternoon.
