![]() I have probably visited this wonderful coffee house more than any other. It is my favourite in York. |
Like some other York coffee houses Coffee Culture is squeezed into its small home as snuggly as possible. There are three petite levels with ricketty, winding stairs between them; a visit here isn't for the less mobile (or faint hearted).

Forget the Minster and the Yorvik Centre, the cushion-filled window seat on the first floor is probably the best place in York. Just sit here and watch the smiley shoppers go about their business on busy Goodramgate.
There is waiter service; just sit down and someone will appear promptly to take your order. Everyone is all smiles, despite having to risk those stairs all day long. The coffee selection is excellent and there's also a food menu and a range of sweet treats. But forget food: for a simple sit-down with just a good mug of coffee, there is hardly anywhere else I'd rather be.
