McQueen's, Knaresborough

McQueen's, Knaresborough Most places in Knaresborough are distressingly tea-roomy, as is the case in most of West Yorkshire.

Clearly, some people like tea rooms, and they all seem to congregate in places like Knaresborough, Harrogate and Haworth. McQueen's tries to be a coffee house by having "ESPRESSO" and "CAPPUCCINO" in big print on the windows, but the piles of scones give it away.

Nevertheless, it's still an ok place to sit, especially if you're swift enough to bag the sofas by the window. The coffee is nothing special but the interior is pleasant, it's very friendly and there are newspapers to read. It retains just enough attributes of a coffee house to be considered in this blog.
